Bad Day by Daniel Powter

I like this song because the melody is nice, although it's sad. This song describes a person who is sad, but is trying to cover it up by putting a fake smile on his face. He tries not to let other people know, but everyone notices anyway. I feel connected to this song because of course, I had many bad days in my life and will have many more. Most of the time though, I try to cover it up and pretend to be happy, but my closest friends notice that I'm actually sad on the inside although it doesn't show on the outside. They say, "You had a bad day ," and then tell me to get over it because there are going to be many bad AND good days in the future. This song may be a little old, but it's still nice.

Bottom of the Ocean by Miley Cyrus

Bottom of the Ocean is yet another song about love. However, this "love" is not for a person, but for a fish. You may not notice at first, but as you listen to the song several times, you will notice that the lyrics, which Miley Cyrus wrote, talk about how she loved her fish and how it died. I feel connected to this song because I had many fish as pets, and I remember getting them for my Christmas present. I was really happy, but the next day, my favorite fish - it was very different from most fish, it looked like a shark actually - died. Then I realized that my favorite fish became something I'll never find again, at the bottom of the ocean. I was really sad, but I guess the message of the song is to enjoy every single moment that you have with a thing or a person you love because they're not going to be here forever . . .

Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion

I think that this is a very touching song because the lyrics and the melody make it soft and let you feel what Celine Dion was probably thinking when she sang this song. I also think that she dedicated this song to her mother for loving her and sticking by her when she made mistakes (or maybe her boyfriend, but let's say it's her mom). I chose this song because the lyrics express what I feel for my mom, although I don't sometimes express it in the right way and she gets mad. But I know that she loves me and gets mad for a reason, because she knows what's best for me. I love her because she was my strength when I was weak and she saw the best there was in me. Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion is an amazing song and you should definitely listen to it.

A Place in This World by Taylor Swift

I love this song! It has a mysterious, but likable melody with great lyrics that make this a great song. I feel like many people, especially young girls, can totally relate to this song. This song is like a story of Taylor Swift's beginning as a singer. It talks about how she didn't know what the future held for her, but she just kept moving on even if she made mistakes. I feel connected to her in some way through this song because I'm just a girl, trying to find a place in this world. I still don't exactly know what I want to do with my future and I hate growing up because I'll have to make plans for my future. However, I know I'll be strong, I'll be wrong because I'm just a girl.

Mobile by Avril Lavigne

This song is by Avril Lavigne. Although it may not be as popular as many of her other songs, I think it is a good song. It has a very energetic, but sad sound to it. Also, at some point, the sound seems a little angry too. The song basically talks about how her life changed so much. I feel very connected to this song because everything seemed like it changed when I moved to Vietnam from Czech Republic. I didn't know if I'd see my friends again or what was going to happen in Vietnam. "Everything's changing when I turn around ,"  is what I was thinking at that time. This song summarizes how I felt and what happened to me when I found out I was going to be moving for Vietnam - not for holiday - forever.

Gift of a Friend by Demi Lovato

This is an amazing and meaningful song done by Demi Lovato. It has a sweet melody that sometimes makes you sing along. The song is about how grateful you should be for having friends that you can trust. I feel connected to this song because I have many friends that I can rely on and in return, they can rely on me. I feel very fortunate to have friends because they can make boring things seem fun and they can help you when you're in need. I believe in the gift of a friend.

Billionaire by The Glee Cast

Billionaire . . . Yup, the title says it all. This song is about what a person would do with all his money since he is a billionaire. I really like this song because the melody is cool and the lyrics are well thought out in my opinion because some parts actually rhyme. The chorus of the song is also very catchy. This song connects to me in a way because sometimes I want to buy something, but I can't. So I say, I wanna be a billionaire so freakin bad, buy all the things I never had. Well, there isn't a big possibility that I will be a billionaire in the future, but I bet that if I was, it'd be awesome! Anyway, it's a great song.
